The must-plays set the direction. From there, I read the floor, work around the timeline, and decide what earns the next three minutes.

The approach

Skip the hundred-song assignment.

Give me five to ten must-plays and the songs that could ruin your night. I can learn the rest by asking better questions.

I’m not there to check titles off a spreadsheet. I usually open the floor with records several generations know, bring the older relatives in while they’re still there, then narrow the set as the room shows me what it wants.

I also watch the clock. If a speech, performance, or cake cutting is ten minutes away, I won’t spend nine minutes winding the floor up just to stop it cold.

The room changes.
The job doesn’t.

I’ve worked the Torrey Pines Hilton in San Diego, Wilson Creek Winery in Temecula, and a Marriott celebration in Long Beach. I’m based in Murrieta and serve Temecula, San Diego, Orange County, and destination events, including Cancun.

Our DJ was so much fun and as an added MC he made sure to interact guests and make sure they felt included in the celebration. It’s awesome to see family and friends have fun together

He played all the hits and surprised us with some classics we’d forgotten about. We couldn't have been happier with our choice!

From ceremony to last song

Momentum is easier
to lose than rebuild.

Each part of the day has a different job. My job is to change gears without making the wedding feel like it keeps restarting.

01

Ceremony

The processional starts when it should. Vows are heard. I stay out of the photograph.

02

Cocktail hour

The first clues about the room: what gets a head nod, what starts a conversation, and who came ready.

03

Reception

Introductions and toasts stay clear, brief, and coordinated with the people running the timeline.

04

Dance floor

I start with common ground, bring older relatives in early, then get more specific as the night opens up.

Music and atmosphere

The lights should not look like demo mode.

Dance-floor lighting is included because the room should register the same lift your guests hear in the music.

As the music gains energy, the room changes color with it. Strobes flash during a build, so the visual tension rises with the record instead of cycling through an unrelated preset.

Uplighting, cold sparks, a custom gobo, and a disco ball are separate options. Choose them because they suit your room. Every wedding doesn’t need every effect.

Wedding coverage

Two starting points.

Rajiv was seriously one of the best decisions we made for our wedding. He kept the dance floor full the entire night, no joke! He just gets the vibe and knows exactly what to play to keep everyone having fun.
